A… Chattam & Wells™ was originally founded by the Kluft family in 1997. Today it is selectively manufactured by licensees of Spring Air International. Each factory must pass a 20 step process to demonstrate their ability to manufacture this storied brand.

Q… What does the term “Inner-tufting” mean?

A… Inner-tufting refers to the process by which the upholstery layers on the mattress are compressed and a tufting cord is strung through the entire mattress. This tufting cord affixes the upholstery layers to the innerspring unit in a slightly compressed manner, creating an incredibly durable and consistent sleep surface. This helps the upholstery resist body impressions as well.
